Sunday Sketch at 365 Cards

Here's the Sunday Sketch this week at 365 Cards:

And my card:

It's so funny, because the cards that are the simplest in design seem to take the longest to create! This card took me a couple of hours - lots of fussy gluing with these Cricut floral elements from the Tink cart. The stitching didn't take quite as long, but having to poke little holes to guide the stitching takes time. I'm really pleased with this one - thanks for stopping by!

String Art at 365 Cards

I'm glad I got the chance to share a card for today's challenge at 365 Cards, because I've always wanted to try this on a card.
It was definitely a learning experience for me, and I like how it turned out, but I think I could do a better job now that I have the idea.
Here's my card:

It ends up looking Clean & Simple, and yet it was quite a lot of work. I used little brads to help me with positioning. The design is an imitation of a curve-stitch design that I found here. I sort of guessed my way through it. What's nice is that by the time I was done, I felt that any additional embellishement would just detract from the string art, so I just added a sentiment and I was done.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Blogoversary 365 Cards!!!!

Well, we've officially reached a year at 365 Cards! It just flew by for me. When I first started the blog, I hadn't thought beyond the first year, but it's gotten such a great response and we had so much fun that I wanted to keep going.

Here is the final sketch from the last 365 year:

And my card:

Here's a close-up of the lines I drew using my atyou Spica glitter pens and a ruler:

I stared and stared at this card feeling as if something more needed to be added. I love my embellishments! But since the sketch had a clean and simple feel to it, I decided to leave the outside alone and decorate the inside:

Looking forward to another great year!!!
