You Go Girls!

I'm so excited that I'm about to burst! Tomorrow I head into Canada to watch my very best friend, Natalie, curl in the Olympic games.

Last year at this time I was in Colorado at the Olympic trials for US Women's Curling and I had the great pleasure of watching her team win. Here's one of my favorite pictures from that event.

That was my first opportunity to give her a hug after the qualifying win!

So before I headed up here, I tried to think of something that I could give her that would properly show my support - and I know that my fellow card makers will agree that a handmade card is the way to go!

Here's the sketch I used from today's 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday challenge:

And my card that reads "You Go Girls" for the entire team:

This came together very quickly as I prepared to leave for my trip. I hope she likes it, and I hope you play along with us!!

Cool Caardvarks Challenge

Well, as I was giving my blog a makeover the other day, I realized that I haven't visited the Caardvarks blog for quite a while. So when I popped over there, I found this challenge, which is to create a wedding card.
Wedding cards are fun, but the prize is fab!!
So here's my card:

It's a wedding cake! It's hard to tell in the photo, but the cardstock from which I created the cake (looks like fondant, in my opinion) is shimmery. Those are Basic Grey rub-ons serving as the decoration on the cake, along with BG patterned paper and those gorgeous rhinestones.

Here's a peek at the inside of the card:

It is has a somewhat non-traditional look about it, and yet I think it is well-suited as a wedding card. Thanks for looking!!

365 Cards "Gloria's Sketch"

What a fun week we're having over at 365 Cards, and it's just begun!!

This week the Design Team is featuring a different sketch every single day. Today Gloria is up with her sketch, and here is my take.

I saw this chick stamp set from Unity Stamps at Craft Warehouse a couple of weeks ago, and it was a must have.
By the way, I just gave my blog a makeover - what do you think??
I'm going to try to play along every day this week, so I'll be back tomorrow with my take on Audrey's sketch...

Dear Cupid...

I did some blog hopping today to get inspired to use some new goodies I picked up at Craft Warehouse yesterday. It was my bday yesterday, and I had some $$ to spend!

So I ended up at 2 Sketches 4 You, and came across this sketch:

And I knew this scalloped circle from a sheet of Bo Bunny paper would be perfect:

The sentiment in the middle (surrounding the die cut image from Pink Paislee) reads:

"Cupid draw back your bow and let your arrow go straight to my lover's heart for me"

**You can click on the image to enlarge it, but beware - it's huge!

The blossoms are Prima, but I wanted that blue-green accent color in some of them, so I colored two of the blossoms using Copics.

Here's a peek at the back of the card:

That's a rub-on sentiment from American Crafts.
It's been a busy week for me. I also got a new table for my craft room from IKEA along with some more storage for my many tools, paper, and embellies. I'll post some pics after I finish getting organized.
Also, in celebration of my birthday, I am having a huge sale at my Mac Mae Shop -- I'm cleaning house!!
Back to work for me :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to Me...

Wow - I'm actually keeping up with my posts (even if this one is a couple of days late)...

We're being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique at 365 Cards this week, and we're using the most adorable Valentine-themed images! Check out this week's sketch and my card:

I had such fun working with this image. I actually printed it off three times - two of those times were on patterned paper to created the background and the little girl's clothing. Lots of fussy cutting and some coloring with Copics finished it off.

It's been a crazy week around my house. My oldest daughter turned 6 last week, so there were a couple of parties (one with fam. and one with friends). And this week it's my turn to celebrate my own birthday. I'm a little bit older than 6...

One of my birthday gifts is a huge work table for my scraproom from IKEA (thanks, Mom!!), and I can't wait to start using it.

Thanks for stopping by, and jump in and play along with us this week - you just might win a prize ;)
