A Cute Card
I just had to share this absolutely adorable card that I created using my Cricut. I feel that I can rave about it since the Cricut did most of the work. By the way, I get a common question about the name of my blog, and my business (which is also called Mackenzie Mae Designs), that I thought I would answer here. It's rare that I get very personal about my life on my blog, especially when it comes to my family. Mackenzie and Mae are the middle names of my daughters, who inspire me every day to try to create beautiful things. I started my business last summer, several months before I ever thought about starting a blog. I've gotten enough requests from friends and family to make cards for various occasions, that I thought I would make it official and get a business license. I am otherwise a SAHM, which is just the way I like things right now. So now back to my card, here it is...

Laura's Sketch 18 and an Announcement
The sun is shining here, and I was in the mood to make a card to match the weather! This is my take on Laura's Sketch 18 at 2 Sketches 4 You. My Cricut Expression is responsible for that fun sunburst. The sentiment is printed on Basic Grey paper from the Phoebe line. The flower is Making Memories and that beautiful pink die cut paper is KI Memories.
And now for an announcement:
A new challenge blog called 365 Cards. You can watch the site for details, but if you are a card maker and you want to try out for a spot as a designer on the blog, then check back often for the big announcement on that. There will be occasional compensation, so it will be worth your while to join in.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out my earlier posts for info on how to win some fabulous blog candy. I will be drawing winners in less than a week!

Caardvarks Polka Dot Challenge and the 50th Post
Woo-hoo, this is my 50th post! And to celebrate I made a card for the latest Caardvarks challenge. I made yet another Valentine, for which I cut out a big heart using my Cricut. The background polka dot paper is from the Making Memories Noteworthy line. The acetate die cuts are K&Company, and you may notice some polka dots on those, as well.
I have a big announcement coming this week, so stick around!

Kazan's Sketch 18 and a Blog Facelift
Here is my weekly entry into the sketch contest at 2 Sketches 4 You...
Can you tell that I am a huge fan of Basic Grey? I don't know who I am giving this card to, but I sure had fun making it!
Also, I want to acknowledge Blogger Boutique for doing an outstanding job on my bloggy facelift! I placed an order last night, and this is the result. This is one satisfied customer.
By the way, if you haven't gotten your name in one or both of my RAK drawings, you can find the details here and here.

Laura's Sketch 17 and RAK #2
My husband and I were asked recently to be the Godparents of the beautiful baby girl of some dear friends of ours. Her baptism is on Sunday, so of course I had to make a card. Thanks to Laura's sketch this week at 2 Sketches 4 You I was inspired to make this card:
And now...are you ready for RAK #2?
If you win you get:
2 pre-cut/folded metallic cards w/envelopes
1 spool of pink and brown ribbon from Michael's
K & Company die-cut cardstock banners
K & Company Rub-0ns and Gems
1 sheet 8.5 x 11 Pink on Red double-sided paper from Chatterbox, Inc.
1 sheet 8.5 x 11 Baby paper from American Crafts
1 sheet 8.5 x 11 Cardstock from the Paper Company in Classic Red
All you have to do to be entered into this drawing is become a follower of this blog. And why might you want to do that? Well, if you like my cards, I participate in challenges weekly. I update my blog when I learn about a great contest or cyber crop, so you'll get the latest info on all kinds of fun scrappy stuff!
If you want to enter the drawing for RAK #1, just check out this post and follow the instructions there. Oh yeah, I'm adding a little something to both RAKs - a metallic gel pen from Sakura. The drawing is a couple of weeks away, so there may be more stuff to add ;)

Caardvarks Challenge and RAK Sneak Peek
First, here's my submission to the latest Caardvarks challenge. We needed to create a card using a sketch from Becky Fleck at PageMaps.
I am looking forward to Valentine's Day and sharing the love. So I created this card:
The patterned paper and trinket pin are from Making Memories, the silk flower with pearl brad are from the Paper Studio, the twine is Martha Stewart, and the heart-shaped and "love" brads are Provo Craft. I also used some punches, bling, and dry-embossing tools.
Do you want some scrappy candy?? Check back in a few days for more details, but for now, here's a sneak peek ;)

Happy New Year!
It's a new year with new challenges to complete. I just flew into town today, and I'm getting this done at the last minute, but I absolutely needed to participate in the weekly 2 Sketches 4 You challenge. So here it is:
My oldest daughter turns 5 this month - when did she get so old? Whenever she sees my latest card, she always says something sweet about it. I am so proud to be her mom and I truly enjoyed making this card!
The stamped cupcakes and sentiment are Inkadinkado, with some glitter and bling to pretty it up.
